Trigger Finger
Trigger Finger or
Thumb involves the flexor tendons of the hand, which control bending
movements of the fingers. When the finger or thumb is stretched out, it
will seem to lock in position and be unable to move on its own, though
it can be easily moved with the other hand or by another person. There
may be a nodule, which may be slightly tender, at the base of the
affected finger or thumb. Treatment may include anti-inflammatories,
splinting, steroid injections into the affected area, or surgery.
