Feldenkrais

The primary objective of Feldenkrais is to teach body awareness through movement. The idea is that the healing is promoted by greater awareness of the body. Moshe Feldenkrais, the founder of Feldenkrais believed that each repeated movement sends a signal to the brain and, in effect, lays down a pattern that is subsequently followed. The Feldenkrais method is designed to break such patterns and teach students how to change distorted posture and movement.

Typically, Feldenkrais is taught in a group session. The students go through a series of movements in which they focus on the part of body being moved and the sensations associated with it. Students are also taught how to release muscle tension.
